After last week’s shooting of Republican Congressman Steve Scalise, Democrats are asking themselves if the political rhetoric they’ve been displaying has gone too far.
One Democrat wondering about that is Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, who joined Fox News Sunday.
“I do think the language and rhetoric on both sides has gotten out of control,” the Senator said.
Texas State Representative James White told KTRH our lawmakers need to focus on substance and not rhetoric.
“We do need to exercise a level of responsibility and keep it focused on policy and issues,” White stated.
So will this change after last week's shooting? White isn't so sure.
“It will not change until the voters, the people we work for, demand a change,” White explained.
And that demand could come at the voting booth, maybe as soon as next year's midterms.
