With Memorial Day behind us we are unofficially ready to jump with both feet into summer with a weekend of let-your-hair-down music and fun.
The Free Press 2017 Summer Fest is going on this weekend at Eleanor Tinsley Park, featuring Lorde and Flume on Sunday night. It’s a Houston tradition of the best of contemporary music on four stages non-stop starting at eleven each morning and continuing late into the night. Some will remember this as the best event in the best summer of their lives; some will remember traffic jams, sweaty, smelly bodies and long lines. Attitude plays big at Summer Fest.
The best advice for those attending is hydrate. Concert promoters partner with commercial brands like Budweiser and Jack Daniels, so beverages will be available, but non-alcoholic drinks should be considered as well. Someone’s going to have to drive home.
