It’s something we all hope we never have to use. And that would be calling 9-1-1.
Greater Harris County 9-1-1 is putting the word out, as they do every year at this time. So when is the right time to call 9-1-1?
It’s for major emergencies that would affect your life or property; emergencies requiring police, fire or medical assistance,” explained Sonia Lopez Clauson, the Public Information Director with Greater Harris County 9-1-1.
She says operators get calls frequently for things that do not require you to call 9-1-1.
“There are adults calling for situations like barking dogs, plumbing problems, power outages, and even locked keys in the car,” she explained.
The annual campaign runs through September.
