Cy Fair Students Celebrate LIFE Skills

A very special group of Cy-Fair High School students were awarded their letter jackets at the school’s seventh annual “Letters for Life” event on Friday.

Eight special needs students were given jackets compliments of the Lady Bobcat Basketball team, who each year raise money to provide those who would not otherwise would not have one.

The team began their fundraising “Letters for Life” program in 2010 with head girls’ basketball coach Ann Roubique.  “It makes me joyous and proud that it’s going to go on and continue,” said Roubique. “This is something we do as a team. This is something we take very seriously. These seniors learned from the kids before them and they will continue to pass it down.

It makes you proud to be a part of it.”  Students collect funds throughout the year from passing buckets around their classes or accepting donations from their churches or other out-of-district entities.  Balfour-All American provides the jackets at a reduced price.
