Surgeon Insists Brains Will Be Frozen, Transplanted

It is amazing science … or science fiction?

Italian surgeon Sergio Canavero says frozen brains could be thawed and installed into humans in just a few years.

Cleveland surgeon Dr. Robert White was the first surgeon to successfully transplant the head of a monkey onto another monkey’s body – more than 50 years ago.

The animal functioned for a week until the body rejected the head.

Even Alcor, the Arizona firm that freezes the heads and bodies of the dead -- including baseball Hall of Famer Ted Williams – says not yet possible to revive frozen human brains with present science.

Canavero says it can be done by 2018.
