An officer-involved shooting at lunchtime Thursday is under investigation.
The incident took place near the intersection of Estrellita and West Road.
The Houston Police Department says it dispatched a unit to the area on a criminal-mischief call.
A suspect was shot at the scene. That person, whose name has not been disclosed, was taken to a hospital.
There is no known danger to the public.
