After the events we’ve seen over the last week, there can be no doubt conservative media is under attack. Bill O’Reilly has been fired by Fox. Sean Hannity was accused of making sexual advances towards a woman.
There is a question that needs to be answered. Is this an organized effort from the left or is this something conservative media is bringing on themselves? Gary Polland with the Texas Conservative Review told KTRH the answer is both.
“The left is involved with restricting the ability of First Amendment rights,” he stated.
But he also added O’Reilly had to be more careful.
“When you’re high profile you are subject to scrutiny. When you don’t pass that scrutiny then you have a problem,” Polland said.
As for Hannity, he's not taking the accusation sitting down.
“I can’t remain silent anymore. I can no longer let this slander; these smearing attempts of me slide by,” Hannity said during his KTRH show on Monday.
As for O'Reilly, he's employing a different strategy.
“I’m very confident the truth will come out, and when it does, I don’t know if you’re going to be surprised, but I think you’re going to be shaken as I am,” O’Reilly said on Monday during a podcast on his website; the first time he has spoken publicly since his firing.
