Governor Helping Harris County Fight Gangs

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is promising to deploy more resources to help authorities in Houston as they try to end gang violence. Abbott announced a plan to send $500-thousand dollars from his criminal justice division to supplement anti-gang resources in Houston and Harris County.

Abbott pledged to “eradicate the gangs that try to rape, rob and murder our fellow Texans.”

Abbott says he will also deploy additional personnel from the Texas DPS and the Texas Rangers to help in the battle against gangs.
