Gorsuch to be confirmed today

After deploying the ‘nuclear option,’ the U.S. Senate is poised to confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch to the United States Supreme Court today.

Gorsuch would fill the seat vacated in February of last year, when Justice Antonin Scalia passed away in Texas. Once Gorsuch is confirmed, he will be faced with a lot on his plate.

One of the cases that could come before Judge Gorsuch has to do with your security, and one of the issues President Trump based his Presidential campaign around.

“The big case which he will be called on to decide this year involves President Trump’s travel ban,” Blackman explained. “That case may actually come before the Supreme Court as early as this coming summer.”

Blackman says that if you have concerns about Gorsuch that he would turn into Chief Justice John Roberts, who was nominated by President George W. Bush and basically saved Obamacare, you can put those worries to rest.

“Roberts had only been an appellate judge for barely two years. He hadn’t had that many cases, and hadn’t really told us what he thought. In contrast, Judge Gorsuch has been an appellate judge for a decade. He’s written articles. He’s written books,” Blackman stated.

So, Blackman says we can use those articles and books as a predictor of the kind of justice Gorsuch will be.
