Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo is among the many law enforcement officials who will attend the funeral for Clint Greenwood, a Precinct 3 deputy constable.
The 30-year lawman was gunned down, ambush-style, on Monday.
Acevedo said Greenwood was well-known and respected throughout the Houston area.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church on Woodway Drive. A public viewing will begin at 10 a.m.
Also, former Harris County district attorney Devon Anderson has reportedly been placed under armed protection. There’s no word on why the action was taken. However, less than a week before Greenwood was killed, he told county officials he felt threatened by a man who was once the target of a corruption investigation.
