DHS: ICE Roundups Are Routine

Community activists along with some high-profile democrats appear to be spreading false information about recent high-profiile roundups of criminal aliens in Texas and California.

“A city councilman in Austin said this is retaliation because of their amnesty position and the Senate minority leader called it an antagonistic exercise,” says Bob Price at Breitbart Texas.

But Price says these same people never questioned the round ups under President Barack Obama.

“Those are the kind of things that are just being used by the left to rile people up and keep them angry, keep them marching in the streets,” he says.

In fact, DHS spokeswoman Gillian Christensen says ICE's Operation Cross Check was well underway before President Donald Trump took office.

“The focus of these targeted enforcement operations is consistent with the routine targeted arrests carried out by ICE's Fugative Operations Teams on a daily basis,” she says.

ICE officials also have arrested about 200 criminal aliens in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.  “The primary focus of these teams is to arrest convicted criminal aliens who are in the country illegally,” Christensen added.id
