A person was wounded in a Sunday afternoon shootout in Harris County -- an incident that led to a standoff with SWAT officers.
Gunshots were fired around noon near the Royal Palms apartment complex on the 5300 block of Griggs Road. Police received information that two people were holed up in one of the apartments and were armed.
SWAT teams were dispatched as a result. They were on the scene about two hours after first reports of gunfire.
Numerous shell casings from were found around the complex and across the street by authorities and eyewitnesses.
The injuries and condition of the wounded person are unknown.
