McCaul: Terror threat remains undiminished

Terrorism has been a big topic of conversation, especially over President Trump’s executive order about refugees. So what does the threat really look like?

Texas Congressman Michael McCaul Chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, and says in his monthly update that ISIS' "external operations plotting remains undiminished." Professor Robert Summers at the Center for Terrorism Law at St. Mary's University in San Antonio agrees.

“The threat continues. The possibility of its escalation is real,” Summers said.

But he's more hopeful now than he was before President Trump took over.

“I think President Trump takes national security very seriously, and it’s not going to be impeded by frivolous political correctness issues,” Summers explained.

Already this year we've seen attacks in Europe, and the attack at the Fort Lauderdale airport in January that killed five may have been partly inspired by Islamist ideology.
