Some Democrats want to 'shut other white people down'

The Democratic Party says “Love Trumps Hate,” but seems to have a different tone when it comes to who the race to lead the party following the scandal that caused Debbie Wasserman-Schultz her post last year.

This is apparently the case when the candidates to run the party talk about race relations and Black Lives Matter.

“My job is to listen and be a voice, and my job is to shut other white people down when they want to interrupt. My job is to shut other white people down when they want to say ‘Oh no I’m not prejudiced, I’m a Democrat, I’m accepting,'” Sally Boynton Brown said.

“My job is to make sure that they get that they have privilege and until we shut our mouths and we listen to those people who don’t and we lift our people up so that we all have equity in this country … we’re not going to break through this,” she stated

Boynton Brown, one of the candidates for the party’s chairmanship talking at a forum earlier this week. Texas Republican strategist Brendan Steinhauser told KTRH it's just the continuation of Obama politics.

“He divided the American people along racial lines. His supporters with the Democrats did not do a good job in bringing people together,” Steinhauser explained.

And thinks this will hurt Democrats in the end.

“Democrats will have to rely upon many white working class voters. By insulting them further, they are leading the party into ruin,” Steinhauser said.

Boynton Brown claims those comments were taken out of context.
