Cinco Ranch Homeowner Holds Robbers at Gunpoint

A series of car burglaries in the Cinco Ranch area has led to three arrests early this morning.

A homeowner caught the suspects this morning when he went out to his driveway at 4:30am. Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls told KTRH the homeowner held the suspects until his deputies arrived and took them into custody.

“When we do have crime occur, residents are paying more attention to their possessions and their neighbor’s possessions. They are acting within the law,” Nehls explained.

Nehls also says here have been more incidents like this over the last number of months.

“There have been times where a homeowner found an individual breaking into his vehicle, and ended up shooting and killing him. That’s the last thing a homeowner would ever want to do. I guess people are just fed up and want to protect their property in Texas,” Nehls explained.

Nehls added the homeowner in this case acted within the law.

The suspects in custody are Ricardo Estrada, 19; Jonathan Hill, 17; and Miguel Lopez, 19. All three are from Houston. Each suspect faces a charge of Aggravated Robbery. Additional charges are pending.

No injuries were reported from this incident.
