In his upcoming memoir, Gone 'Til November, Lil Wayne shared some very interesting stories about his time in Rikers Island. One story, in fact, was a very funky one.
Weezy detailed having a cell right next to another that had a very bad odor. "It all started from me noticing this crazy a** smell that was coming from his [an inmate named Harrington] cell. As the suicide prevention aide, I sat outside my cell from 10pm to 6am...I'm cell 29 and he's cell 28...and that's a long a** time to smell a funky a** odor," he writes in his book.
He continued: "I'm like what the f**k is this dude doing to make his cell stink like this? Then it clicked: dude don't ever take showers. I mean, as hot as it's been up in this b**ch, I've never seen him take one freaking shower."
That's when Wayne spoke to a mutual friend of this inmate's, Coach, and asked him to tell the inmate to wash his behind. "I guess Coach must have told him exactly what I said in the midst of telling him. So Harrington comes into the dayroom and just goes off on me. 'You motherf**ker...Don't tell me to take no f**king shower. You don't tell me when to take a shower,'" Weezy detailed.
"'I'm a grown a** man and I ain't got to get in the f**king shower. And you think I don't know about you. I've already read the articles You think I don't know you a druggie. You're just a junkie!' He starts going in on how I'm a junkie and how I'm addicted to cough syrup. 'You think I don't know you a junkie? You ain't perfect, you ain't special, trying to tell me to take a shower.'"
Wayne goes on to say that he didn't want to argue back with Harrington because he was an old man. But, the other inmates had his back and told Harrington that Weezy was right. Immediately afterward, correctional officers gave Harrington the boot out of the prison. "Their main thing is protecting Carter...They have to protect Carter, and Carter can't get into any arguments, no nothing...because I could sue."
