Wild video out of Australia showing a man in a long and drawn out brawl with a kangaroo.
Cliff Des says he was in his home when he heard his dogs barking in the front yard.
When he went to check on them he came across a kangaroo trying to take his little dogs.
The Today Show Australia reports:
“Cliff said he kept his distance and tried to shoo the kangaroo away from his dogs, but when it broadened its stance and turned to face him, he knew he was in trouble.
"I didn't want to stick around so I ran back into my yard," Cliff told Today.
But as Cliff ran, he slipped and fell on the ground as the kangaroo gave chase - fast approaching.
He found a stick to defend himself but the kangaroo snapped it after about three whacks.
"It snapped like a carrot, so I thought this guy means business, he was going to mongrel me if I didn't do something," he said.
Cliff managed to get to his feet and tackled the kangaroo, bringing them both crashing back to the ground.
CCTV footage showed the intense battle, with the two wrestling on the ground for about five minutes as Cliff's dogs bark to try and protect their human.
Cliff said the kangaroo tried to gouge at his face, so he put his head down to protect it.
But the kangaroo took a chunk out of his scalp and also bit his finger and clawed at the back of his leg, shredding the cuff of his pants and leaving a gash about an inch long on his calf.
"I sort of wrestled it, got my composure and after that I made an escape plan to get away from it," he said.
"When I ran away it chased me around the car in the yard. That's about all I can tell you what happened.
"He was in a dusty mood, I don't know what was wrong with him, maybe he had some lady friend I reminded him of."”
