It happened early Tuesday morning at around 12:30am.
According to investigators, a man wearing scrubs was knocking on the door of a home in SE Houston.
The man claimed to be a health care worker.
Po-po say the woman refused to let the man in and called her son, who happened to be a few blocks away.
Officers said the son arrived to find the man had broken the door and shot the suspect as he was forcing his way inside the home.
