Where’s the outrage, where’s the marches & demonstrations? Apparently this 5-year-old was no George Floyd because the mainstream media is largely silent. Where's BLM for that matter?
Caleb Harris, 5, along with his mother, Lashon Marshall, 28, and her boyfriend, Aaron Benson, 32, were found shot dead in their Detroit home.
Police have arrested a 16 & 17-year for the triple homicide.
Caleb’s grandmother, Shalesa Floyd, tells ClickOnDetroit.com (emphasis added):
“...for you to shoot a 5-year-old in the face? Twice? You could have let him go so he could remain and live... To do this -- it’s like a monster would do this.”
The victims were found on Sunday when a concerned family member was worried after not hearing from the family for several days.
Detroit Police Commander Michael McGinnis says, “words can't explain what it's like to see a 5-year-old child laying deceased from gunshot wounds. It's incredible how very sad that is.'
He pointed out that the boy's 6th birthday would have been on February 27, adding that “it's just unimaginable... that 5-year-old's birthday was just five days from now. imagine that family was prepping for a birthday celebration. Tragically, now their plans have changed.'
Activist Zeek Williams gets it, he’s demanding the community push for change.
"When a 5-year-old is murdered in our community we all got to have an understanding and look at it like that’s our kid too. Because until we start to look at those situations like that, nothing is going to change...
If you’re an influencer, if you’re an entertainer, a comedian, a rapper, you know or just somebody cool in the community that kids look up to, we got a responsibility to do more in our communities to affect the mindset and mentality of what’s going on.”
