How ‘bout them apples.
Last week, a man tried to rob a pizza shop in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia when he was shot in the face by a 14-year-old defending his mother.
Employees at the Bold Pizza Shop says the armed man forcibly reached over the counter and tried to take cash from the register.
A struggle ensued between an employee and the robbery suspect who started to strangle the employee.
That employee’s 14-year-old son sprung into action by grabbing a handgun from under the counter and shot the robber in the face.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says “there was money on the floor and there was also some broken glass inside the store, and there was also a large amount of blood.”
Investigators say they followed a trail of blood down the stairs of the subway station, that’s where they found the 33-year-old suspect.
That suspect was rushed to an area hospital where he was placed in critical condition.
According to po-po, surveillance video from the pharmacy matched the description of the injured suspect. They are still looking for two suspects.
