Antifa Thugs Did $500k In Damage & Portland Police Did Nothing To Stop Them

Portland has basically ceded control of the city to the violent left-wing thugs hells bent on destroying.

Last week, a group of Antifa smashing storefront windows, lighting dumpsters on fire, causing at least $500,000 in damage and police officers didn't stop them.

Portland Police Bureau officials say new legislation passed by the Democrat legislature restricts what they can do to people vandalizing buildings.

Lt. Jake Jensen with the Portland Police Bureau tells KOIN-TV that HB 2928 is the reason officers aren’t directly intervening as vandals damage property.

He says:

“the reason that we did not intervene goes back to what we talked about last month with HB 2928 and the restrictions placed on us in a crowd control environment. That’s the way our legislature has said we need to operate in a crowd control environment. So that’s the way we are going to operate in a crowd control environment…
The fact of the matter is without being able to use pepper spray, without being able to use our 40mm less-lethal devices in that kind of environment, it really prevents us from having access to the tools we need in large part to keep ourselves safe.”

As KOIN-TV points out they watched as officers remained in their vehicles as the destruction unfolded.

Police say 35 separate locations were targeted — including banks, retail stores, coffee shops, and government buildings.

One residents asks, “does that mean we are now like a lawless city? Anybody could come in and just bash around and do all the damage that they want without any repercussions whatsoever?”
