On Friday night, Port Arthur po-po say two armed men tried to rob a Church’s Chicken when a citizen intervened.
That citizen fired several shots with both suspects getting struck before fleeing the scene.
Po-po say one of the suspects died at the hospital while the other was located and taken to the ER for treatment.
The Beaumont Enterprise newspaper reports:
“(Port Arthur Police Department) PAPD officers received a call at around 8:45p.m. reporting an aggravated robbery at 1849 Jefferson Dr…
“Several shots were fired, and both suspects were struck,” PAPD said. “The suspects fled the scene and were later located by police officers.”
“The citizen who intervened remained on scene and after being interviewed by detectives was released,” PAPD said."
