Ah yes, the “mostly peaceful protests” in Portland.
Wonder why the media doesn’t calls these acts directed at federal property & personnel as a “violent insurrection” and demand sedition charges in these cases.
The Oregonian newspaper reports:
“For weeks, the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse was a ground zero for protesters in downtown Portland. The building was extensively tagged and vandalized in nightly demonstrations often punctuated by violence.
Now the bill has come due for the cleanup, U.S. Attorney Billy Williams said Tuesday.
It amounts to $2.3 million so far for cleaning the courthouse and four other federal properties, Williams said.
In addition to the courthouse, the Edith Green-Wendall Wyatt Federal Building, the Gus J. Solomon U.S. Courthouse, the Pioneer Courthouse and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building also were damaged and have undergone repair, he said.”
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has excused this behavior for months and even blamed the violence and destruction on former President Trump.
