Newly Elected Colorado GOP Rep Vows To Pack Heat Around The Capitol

Last week, newly elected Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert wrote letter to House leadership urging them to keep a 1967 rule that exempts lawmakers from a ban on firearms inside the Capitol building.

Boebert said in a statement:

“I refuse to give up my Second Amendment rights. I’m a 5-foot tall, 100-pound mom with four children and will be walking to work and serving in one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. I choose to defend my family and my life with all of the force the Constitution provides. I will not let a bunch of gun-grabbing House Democrats take away my Constitutional right to protect myself.”

She also posted on social media a video explaining her plans to carry on the streets of DC.

DC Police Chief Robert Contee is trying to intimidate Boebert by warning her about her plan to defend herself.

He says, “that congresswoman, whoever it is, I guess it was from Colorado, will be subjected to the same penalties as anyone else that’s caught on the District of Columbia street that’s carrying a firearm.”

Like to see him try and arrest her.
