MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki explains why they haven’t called Arizona yet unlike Fox.
Kornacki on with Rachel Maddow pointed to votes coming in from Maricopa County that are favoring Trump by 59% thus making it very much in play for him.
With several hundred thousand ballots yet to be counted, he says this “establishes the possibility” for Trump to take the state because “it looks like these are going to be more Trump voters than Biden voters and that’s why NBC didn’t call this”.
He says Trump needs these votes to favor him at about 60% for him be very close to pulling it out.
So far only Fox & AP have called Arizona for Biden.
FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver says both outlets should backtrack on their calls, saying "I sure as heck don't think the state should have been called by anyone, and I think the calls that were previously made should be retracted now."
The latest numbers out of Arizona shows Trump has closed the gap even more. These numbers are with 86% of the votes being counted.
