Texas School Districts Suspends All Virtual Learning

Roosevelt ISD in the Lubbock area announced this week that they are suspending remote learning across all campuses effective at the end of the first six weeks of school which is this Friday.

The only exception will be for students who are told to quarantine by Lubbock Health Officials for two weeks due to exposure or a positive test for COVID-19.

The Superintendent Dallas Grimes says “kids need to be back in school and they need to be back in classrooms with professionals and we don’t apologize for it”.

Grimes points out the low COVID positive rate (0.01%) and because over 70% of remote learners are failing at least one class.

Grimes says “at the end of the days, our teachers are worm out (with virtual learning) and our kids aren’t holding up their end of the bargain.”
