Minneapolis City Coun. Pres: White Privilege Is Calling Police For Break-In

Lisa Bender, president of the Minnesota City Council, is apart of the majority that says they will defund and dismantle the police force in the city.

This morning she was on CNN to discuss her plan.

Anchor Alysin Camerota asked Bender who should residents call if someone broke into her home.

Bender said “yes, I mean I hear that loud and clear from a lot of my neighbors. And I know — and myself, too, and I know that that comes from a place of privilege. Because for those of us for whom the system is working, I think we need to step back and imagine what it would feel like to already live in that reality where calling the police may mean more harm is done."

So if you break into her home, she won’t call police because she doesn’t want to benefit from the white privilege she’s denounced?
