A Virginia Smoke Shop Employee Is Charged For Shooting Burglar

An infuriating story out of Arlington, Virginia a state with a Democrat majority that has gone into full gun-grabbing mode.

A store clerk of a smoke shop was arrested and charged after shooting at masked burglars he caught breaking into the store in the middle of the night.

Arlington Now reports that according to Police, “a group of three suspects broke into [the] store…and began stealing cash and merchandise."

The employee, 33-year-old Hamzeh Abushariah, picked up a gun and shot at one of the suspects.Abushariah then retreated to the back room but reentered the sales floor and discharged his weapon again.

Abushariah was temporarily staying at the store and sleeping in a back room at the request of the store owner in order to protect it from burglars.

Abushariah is now facing three charges: malicious wounding, reckless handling of a firearm, and violation of a protective order. Arlington County Police say the third charge is because Abushariah had been ordered not to have a firearm.

ABC7 in Virginia reports:

"Owner Jowan Aqrawi says he is outraged and feels the shooting should have been considered self-defense.
“4:30 am, three masked men entering your home where you’re asleep,” he told ABC7. “Put yourself in that position, and you’ll have a better understanding.”...
Aqrawi says he bought two firearms a few weeks ago because he was concerned someone would try to steal from his store during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We bought protection for the store just in case, because on Facebook you see a lot of robberies, a lot of things going on,” Aqrawi said."

Last night on Fox, Tucker Carlson spoke to Aqrawi who said "It’s very sad for America today as American citizens practice their Second Amendment to protect the store and their lives...Do you know what the police officer told him? ‘Why didn’t you run out the back door?’”
