Al Sharpton's "Charity" Paid Him More Than $1 Million Last Year

The New York Post reports that Sharpton made $1,046,948 last year from his “charity”, the National Action Network (NAN).

According to the group’s latest tax filings obtained by The Post, Sharpton got a $324,000 salary — 32% higher than his 2017 pay — in addition to a $159,596 bonus and $563,352 in “other compensation.”

The group says that Sharpton was actually owed more, but he was generously willing to take $500,000 less.

Last year, Sharpton sold the rights to his life story for $531,000.

The Post reports that “NAN took in $7.3 million in donations last year, up $1 million from the previous year. NAN paid off years of accumulated tax debt in 2014.”

Of course, Sharpton still owes the IRS more than $600,000 in back taxes. He had also owed the state of New York money, but recently paid that off thanks to big money from his “charity”.
