Doubt They Have Beaver Nuggets: Fake Buc-ee's Found In The Middle East

Maurice Chammah, a writer for the The Marshall Project — a nonprofit covering the criminal justice system — was in Amman, Jordan when he saw the iconic Beaver sign.

He wrote on twitter, “ Fellow Texans: I was driving on a highway north of Amman, Jordan, and found a...Buc-ee's. Or at least, a place claiming to be Buc-ee's. I have so many questions.”

He added that “translated the third word, "moajabat," which means hand pies...which is not NOT a kolache. (The others are "market,""coffee," and "snacks.")”

In a response to Texas Monthly editor Eric Benson, Buc-ee’s co-founder “Beaver” Aplin said, “That beats all. Unbelievable.”
