Man Severely Burned in Chemical Plant Fire Sues Exxon Mobil

Houston attorneys, Mo Aziz of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz and John K. Zaid and Joe I. Zaid of John K. Zaid & Associates, represent Alvaro Coronel who was badly burned in the fire at Exxon Mobil Corporation’s Olefins Plant in Baytown, Texas.

A lawsuit has been filed against Exxon Mobil Corporation.

On July 31, 2019, Alvaro Coronel was employed by Woodgroup and was contracted to work as a crane operator in Exxon Mobil Corporation’s Olefins Plant.

Around 10:00 a.m., Mr. Coronel heard an explosion in the plant. Another worker then told everyone in the vicinity to flee.

As Mr. Coronel was running to safety, the second explosion and subsequent fire occurred. Mr. Coronel was severely injured as a result of the second explosion.

Due to the explosion and subsequent fire, Mr. Coronel suffered burns to his head, neck, back, arms, and hand, as well as other injuries.
