Voting on this runoff election day is back underway in Fort Bend County after the electronic system failed about 3:15 pm because of what officials called a "bug" in the program.
Many voters were being offered provisional ballots to use instead of the electronic system while technicians worked to restore voting.
Fort Bend County Elections Administrator Chase Wilson told our TV partner Channel 2 that a corrupt file caused the system to shut down all over the county midafternoon Tuesday..
Wilson said the election system services administrators were notified of the problem but it took more than 90 minutes to get it back into working order.
The glitch did not affect the integrity of the votes registered before the system went down, according to Wilson.
