Amazon’s Massive Job Cuts Come After CEO Warned AI Would Reduce Workforce

Just months after Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that AI was going to reduce the company's workforce, Amazon it plans to cut 14,000 jobs, if not more, in the coming months.

"What surprised everyone is how fast it came, everyone really thought they were talking about 2026" said Colin Madine, tech editor with Breitbart News.

The massive layoffs are here, and unfortunately it's just the beginning.

"You're going to see continued cuts, and they're going to come in multiple formats" Madine told KTRH, "We're going to see more white collar jobs cut, and the big thing you're going to see in the future, and there's no question about this, is blue collar job cuts."

And Amazon isn't the only one slashing it's workforce. Microsoft and Salesforce are also doing so, because of AI.

"You're seeing the initial cuts and the initial job problems with AI happening in the tech sector, but other companies around the country will try to use AI to drive efficiency and make their bottom lines look better" noted Madine, "But it starts with Silicon Valley."

It's worth noting that Amazon is the 2nd largest private employer in the U.S.
