Three people were severely injured in an overnight shooting a big party on Houston's northeast side.
The three are said to be in critical but stable condition after being shot as they roamed the crowd of more than 100 people at the house party near East Mount Houston Rd. at Mesa Dr., Harris County Sheriff's deputies said Saturday.
The identity of the shooter is not known, but there were reports of one man in custody shortly after police arrived not long after midnight.
There have been several police investigations this year of people shooting into crowds at parties, including an August 5th incident at an apartment complex near Cornerstone Village Drive at Bammel North Houston.
In that case, too, it wasn't clear at first why the gunman seemed to shoot randomly into the crowd.
