FBI’s ‘Houston's Most Wanted’ List Nets Arrest Within Hours

Just hours after the FBI launched its first-ever “Houston Most Wanted” list, one of the fugitives was already in custody.

Gerrode Terrel Smith, wanted for a series of bank and ATM robberies across multiple states, was arrested Tuesday, the same day the list was unveiled. FBI officials say his quick capture shows the power of public awareness and cooperation.

The new list was announced during a Tuesday afternoon press conference at the FBI Houston Field Office. Joined by leaders from local and federal law enforcement, the agency revealed the names of fugitives considered armed, dangerous, and connected to violent crimes across the region. Officials said the list is intended to stay active and will evolve as new threats emerge.

Among the eight other fugitives named are Christian “Gucci” Rucker, wanted for murder and racketeering, and Rafael Antonio Hernandez, accused of killing his daughter and employer. The FBI urges anyone with information to come forward as they continue working to get these suspects off the streets.
