The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is again asking federal workers about what they've gotten done at work.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) recently sent out a second email to federal employees asking them what they did last week. The email also includes a new requirement, asking workers to submit reports every Monday by 11:59 p.m. EST.
The second email that came from OPM had the subject line "What did you do last week? Part II," a reference to the previous DOGE email that asked employees what they accomplished at work. This email instructed workers to give five bullet points describing their accomplishments each week.
This is all part of President Trump's and Elon Musk's attempts to locate and rid of waste in the federal government. When Musk joined Trump's cabinet for their first full meeting last week, he described the emails as a "pulse check."
"I think that email was perhaps interpreted as a performance review, but actually it was a pulse check review. Do you have a pulse?" Musk said. "And if you have a pulse and two neurons, you could reply to an email."
