Fire Intentionally Set at Murder Scene: Investigators

A Fort Bend County home where a man was arrested last week after the apparent murder of his wife is now the scene of another crime.

The county fire marshal's office said on Saturday that firefighters were called to the house Friday night after neighbors smelled smoke.

The fire was extinguished but evidence shows someone intentionally started the blaze.

The man arrested there last week has been in jail since the weekend.

Forty-seven-year-old David Pollard is accused in the shooting and killing his wife, 52-year-old Iona Pollard, last Sunday at the house on Rocky Knoll Lane, not far from Highway 69 the Southwest Freeway at the Grand Parkway (99).

David Pollard is still in jail on $300,000 bond after being charged with murder in the death of Mrs. Pollard.
