Another Federal Judge Issues Block of Trump's Birthright Citizenship Order

A second federal judge has moved to block President Donald Trump's executive order ending birthright citizenship.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman of Maryland wrote in her ruling that "Citizenship is a most precious right, expressly granted by the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution."

The Trump administration argues that the 14th Amendment does not enshrine birthright citizenship.

The first federal judge to temporarily block the executive order was Senior U.S. District Judge John C. Coughenour a few weeks ago.

The executive order has led to multiple lawsuits being filed across the country. If implemented, the order could impact hundreds of thousands of children born in the U.S. each year.

This is a developing story.
