Man Gets Upgraded Charge For Attack That Ultimately Killed Disabled Veteran

A man is now charged with murder in the attack on an 80-year-old disabled veteran.

The family of Earl Hollins said he died from a severe head injury he endured from an attack in the parking lot of a grocery store in north Harris County last week.

The accused attacker, Anthony Boyce, 57, was originally charged with aggravated assault after the attack. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said Boyce punched Hollins in the head during a dispute over a parking spot. Hollins then fell to the ground and hit his head on the concrete.

Hollins was a father of six and described by employees of the Harris County Food Town grocery store as a friendly man.

Boyce's bond was raised to $200,000 earlier this week.
