What To Do About The Texas Housing Shortage

One of the many consequences from the last four years under the Biden-Harris administration, has been the growing U.S. housing shortage. Even here in Texas.

"Americans find themselves in the throws of an affordability crisis of epic proportions, and Texas is not exempt from that" said James Quintero, policy director with the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

There is a right way and a wrong way to deal with the housing shortage, and Texas lawmakers have an opportunity to do the right thing next session.

"It's critical that the Texas legislature take steps to get government out of the way, and allow free market forces to bring homes on-line quickly and cheaply" Quintero told KTRH.

Unfortunately, bad government policies from the left have led to the housing crisis.

"Progressive's have made an absolute mess of the housing market, and it's up to the state to really get control of these liberal local government's, and all of their bad policy. Otherwise, future generations are going to be locked out of the American dream."

According to the most recent data, Texas currently has a shortage of over 300,000 homes.
