On Saturday, the Tarrant County GOP passed a resolution stating that Senator John Cornyn, who is currently one of the three frontrunners for the role of Senate Majority Leader, should not be considered by the Senate GOP for the position.

The resolution specifies that the next Senate Majority Leader should represent the "America First" agenda. Opponents of Cornyn's candidacy argue that he has sided with the Democratic members of the Senate on too many occasions to truly be considered an "America First" candidate.

The resolution reads, "BE IT RESOLVED that the Tarrant County Republican Party rejects John Cornyn as a possible Majority Leader of the United States Senate and encourages Republican U.S. Senators to elect a majority leader that represents President Trump and the America First Agenda, such as Rick Scott and John Kennedy."

Currently, Florida Senator Rick Scott, and South Dakota Senator John Thune are also considered to be frontrunners. Many supporters of President-elect Donald Trump have thrown their weight behind Rick Scott, including Texas billionaire Elon Musk.
