With Election Day behind us, attention is now turning towards the southern border, where yet another massive surge of illegal aliens is expected soon. We could wind up with numbers bigger than anything we've seen in the last year.
Immigration expert Joseph Humire told Fox News, "This is probably the most predictable caravan of them all. Many people said that once we get closer to the election, there was probably going to be a mass migration of people into the United States."
Humire warned that this incoming caravan is going to be just as crime-ridden as the groups that have been illegally crossing the U.S. southern border for the last four years. He said, "By allowing these criminals and terrorists to infiltrate these migrant networks, you know who's actually paying the price for that first? The migrants! They're the ones that are actually getting abused and exploited."
The Texas Department of Public Safety seems to be confident in their ability to handle this surge. Texas DPS Lieutenant Chris Olivarez spoke to Fox, saying, "We're closely monitoring. There are tens of thousands of immigrants right now waiting in southern Mexico. We do anticipate a surge, but the thing is, in Texas, we're ready."
