Texas Bracing For Post Election Illegal Immigration Surge

Mexico has been struggling to hold back immigrants at the southern border, but after tonight, we could be in for another huge wave of illegal immigrants. Thousands of immigrants have already begun making their way north through Mexico.

Todd Bensman with the Center for Immigration Studies told KTRH, "They are all busting to get to the border, and the only thing standing in their way is Mexican troops. And they look like they're starting to pull back already."

Since a backroom deal was cut with the Biden administration last December, the Mexican government had been holding huge numbers of immigrants in southern Mexico. But with the possibility of an imminent Trump Presidency, those migrants are getting desperate, and Mexican officials are starting to pull back.

Bensman says that after the election, Mexico's new president, Claudia Sheinbaum, will have no motivation to keep those immigrants away from the U.S. border, and all bets will be off. He said, "There is a high likelihood that we will see massive numbers pour over at all points, not long after the election."

It could take several weeks before the full force of this new illegal immigrant surge is felt, but Bensman warns that once it gets here, we will see levels of illegal immigration that we haven't seen since 2023, and Texas won't have enough manpower or resources to stop it.
