We have a lot of new registered voters here in Texas this election. And many are Democrats, which means they will vote Democrat. So what does that mean this time around? And will we see the start of Texas turning blue?
"I certainly have heard the fear over the years" said Chuck DeVore, with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, "But the data would not suggest that that is true."
So what is true?
"The information that we've gathered, people who move here from liberal states generally are the conservatives who can't take it anymore" DeVore told KTRH, "And that's why they're moving to Texas. They're moving here for freedom and opportunity."
That is what Texas has to offer, and now it's up to Republicans to keep it that way.
"What's happening in Texas is that you continue to have these urban core areas that are left wing" noted DeVore, "You continue to have the rural areas that are deep red, and then the battleground is the suburbs."
We'll find out just how 'Red' Texas really is, after this election.
