Paxton Asks TX Supreme Court to Dismiss Order Delaying Roberson Execution

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has asked the state Supreme Court to dismiss its order delaying the execution of Robert Roberson.

In the petition, Paxton's office argues the court has no jurisdiction over the case. The court stepped in late last week to stop Roberson's execution, and he court's order granted Roberson a subpoena to testify Monday before a House Committee.

Roberson was found guilty of killing his young daughter in 2002, with prosecutors arguing she died due to "shaken baby syndrome." However, he has supporters on both sides of the political aisle arguing that the science was outdated. The detective who arrested Roberson in the early 2000's, now a minister, has also come out and said he thinks Roberson is not guilty.
