Houston Mayor John Whitmire gave his inaugural 'state of the city' address today. And while he was praised for his no-nonsense approach, the results are still not there nearly 9 months in.
"Give him credit, he's a good politician, but the reality is the crime rate is going up, and he's looking at putting a new tax hike in place" said attorney Jared Woodfill.
Charles Blain with Urban Reform added, "Crime is on the news every night. There's definitely still a lot of work to do."
As one expert put it, the honeymoon is over.
