Current System in the Southwestern Gulf Given Chance of Developing

A system in the Gulf of Mexico has a chance of developing.

The National Hurricane Center said there's showers and thunderstorms coming from a tropical wave over the Bay of Campeche. They're giving the system a 50 percent chance to develop in 48 hours and 70 percent over the next seven days. The system has been designated as ‘Invest 91L.’

It's possible a tropical depression could form sometime next week as the system is currently moving towards the northwest over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico.

KTRH will continue to monitor the updates given by the National Hurricane Center.
