Former President Trump says Elon Musk will help him balance the US budget if re-elected. Speaking at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday, Trump said “At the suggestion of Elon Musk, who has given me his complete and total endorsement … I will create a government efficiency commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms,”.
Trump also promised to reduce the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 15 percent for companies that make products in the USA. The former president says lowering the tax rate will help grow the economy, raise revenue and cut the deficit.
The Republican presidential candidate also went after Vice President Kamala Harris' proposal to ban "price gouging" on groceries. Trump called the Democratic nominee "a Marxist".
