Former President Donald Trump appeared in a federal appeals court in New York Friday for the defamation case brought against him by E. Jean Carroll.
Trump has pushed for a new civil trial in the case. Last May, a jury found Trump should pay $5 million to Carroll after he was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming her.
The Republican nominee for President then held a press conference afterwards, saying he is appealing the "ridiculous verdict."
"These cases are disgraceful and they're brought for the most part in front of very hostile areas where Republicans only get three or four percent," said Trump. "She made up a story."
Trump also made a post to Truth Social following the verdict from last May.
"I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN IS," Trump said in a post. "THIS VERDICT IS A DISGRACE - A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!"
