Governor Greg Abbott announced a massive victory for election integrity Monday morning. In a statement, the Governor confirmed that since the signing of Senate Bill 1 in 2021, over 1 million ineligible voters have been removed from the Texas voter rolls.

Abbott said in the statement, "Election integrity is essential to our democracy. I have signed the strongest election laws in the nation to protect the right to vote and to crack down on illegal voting. These reforms have led to the removal of over one million ineligible people from our voter rolls in the last three years, including noncitizens, deceased voters, and people who moved to another state."

According to the Governor's office, over 6,500 of the voters removed from the voter rolls were non-citizens. Of that number, some 1,930 had a voter history.
